

Sauchun Anita Djiauw of Houston, TX passed away on Saturday, May 31 at the age of 80. She was born on September 22, 1944 in Hong Kong. She married Lie Khong Djiauw on May 3, 1975 and gave birth to her son Stephen on December 15, 1977.
She attended St. Paul’s Coeducational College in Hong Kong, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1966, and finally with a master’s degree from the University of
Michigan-Ann Arbor in Human Genetics in 1972. She worked as a lab assistant at the University of Michigan and as a substitute teacher in Houston, but most importantly as a full time mom to Stephen and caregiver to her own mother after she emigrated to the US.
She was passionate about travel, drawing, learning, trying new cuisines but most about being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Shiu-Ming Wong, mother Bing-Yu Kwong and brother Chi-Shing Wong. She is survived by her sisters Sau-Han Teresa Wong, Sau-Fong Selina Wong, Sau-Wan Stella Wong, Sau-Ling Cynthia Wong and Sau-May Katina Wong.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Rafat Ogedengbe, Veronica Ola, and Shun Ling for the care and compassion they showed our loved one since 2022.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Service at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park (2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077) on Saturday June 7 at 11 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 am. Interment to follow at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park (2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077). The reception will be at 1 pm at Hibachi Grill and Buffet (12183 Katy Fwy Houston, TX 77079).
