Scott held a Bachelors of Science in Management of Information Systems from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He served Houston Independent School District for 25 years and rose to the position of Chief Information Technology Officer. He led the delivery, operation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure that aligned with the organizations educational business programs. Scott was a member of Houston’s First Baptist church. His hobbies included sailing, traveling, tennis, and wake boarding.
Scott had a thirst for knowledge, reading and learning about everything from how batteries work, to complex technology management strategies. He learned about hard work since the age of 12 and developed his abilities to help as many people as he could affect.
Scott is survived by his mother Hye Cha Digby and a brother Daniel Gilhousen and many cousins, nieces and nephews that will continue to carry on his lessons and legacy. We are thankful for the care of the staff at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital.
