

Sean was born on October 26, 1988, in Houston, Texas, and was raised in the community he would later dedicate his life to serving. He was the beloved son of Mark McCreary and Sandra Dousay McCreary, a loving brother to Ryan McCreary and Katelyn McCreary, and a proud and devoted uncle to eight nieces and nephews who brought immeasurable joy and fulfillment to his life.
Sean graduated from Jersey Village High School and attended Sam Houston State University. He went on to build a meaningful and honorable career with the Houston Police Department, where he served as a Senior Police Officer and a dedicated member of the SWAT Team. Sean was deeply committed to protecting his community and served with strength, integrity, and compassion.
While Sean was steadfast in his professional service, the center of his life—his true north—was his wife and children. Sean shared 15 years of love, partnership, and unwavering devotion with his wife, Erika McCreary. Together, they built a life rooted in loyalty, laughter, and deep mutual respect.
Sean was a fiercely loving and devoted father to his children, Dean McCreary and Kyler McCreary. His world revolved around them. Every decision he made, every sacrifice he carried, and every goal he set was guided by his desire to be the best husband and father he could be. Sean cherished both everyday moments and life’s milestones with his children and took immense pride in raising them with love, integrity, and compassion.
Above all else, Sean’s identity was defined by his role as a husband and father. His family was his purpose, his motivation, and the greatest joy of his life.
Sean will be remembered for his genuine heart, authentic spirit, and tireless work ethic. He had an infectious smile that brightened every room and a natural ability to make others feel valued and cared for. He found happiness in simple moments with family and friends and enjoyed sports, especially cheering for the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros.
Sean leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication. His family, friends, fellow officers, and the community he served will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
