Sharon Ann Cain (Darby) or Nonni as she is known to her grandchildren, 69, of Houston, TX passed away January 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. She left this earth just 98 days before her 50th wedding anniversary.
Sharon was born in Houston, TX to LeRoy and Marjorie Ann Darby on November 4, 1952. She married Ronald Wallace Cain on April 15, 1972 (or better known as TAX Day). Together they had two sons, Robert William Cain (deceased) and Ryan Eric Cain, and a daughter, Bethany Michelle Cain. Her children were her passion. She loved them with all she had, and somehow found room to love her grandchildren even more. Her favorite days were spent with her children and grandchildren going on vacations including cruises and a trip to Disney World, as well as spending every extra moment she had with them attending sporting events and school activities.
One of Sharon’s greatest joys was sharing the Love of God with everyone around her. She was a devoted and loyal servant of Jesus Christ, who spent many years actively involved in the church. Sharon enjoyed volunteering with several missions’ organizations over the course of her life (Feed my Hungry children, UBA Mission Center, Community of Faith Mission Fund, Mission trips to Ethiopia, Redeemed Ministries, etc. ). Another selfless pleasure of her life was the fellowship and mentoring of other women. This provided her with numerous lifelong friendships.
She graduated from Reagan High School in 1970. Shortly after graduation Sharon got married and joined the workforce selling concessions at the Astrodome with her husband. A few short years later, she gave birth to her first son, Rob. Unbeknownst to her and Ron, they would lose him to cancer just two and a half years later. After the passing of her first born, they were blessed to raised two other children. Sharon pushed them to be the best that they could be and taught them many life lessons that they will pass on to their children. One important lesson was to show kindness without seeking praise. The family would often secretly bless other families by mowing their grass because they did not have the time or money to get the yard mowed. Sharon and Ron would also gift their old cars away to someone in need after they would purchase a new one. She worked as the office manager for the Union Baptist Association for 15 years before serving as a Transportation Clerk at the Transportation Center for Cy Fair School District until she retired in 2020.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son, Rob, and has since been reunited with them in Heaven.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Ron, her children Ryan (Alisha), their children Reece and Avery, and Bethany (Luke) and her children Joey and Aidan. She is also survived by her sister Nannette Darby, her sister-in-law Terry Gray and her brother-in-law Alan Cain, as well as her nephew Tommy Gray(April), as well as her numerous cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held on March 5, 2022 at 10:30am at Tallowood Baptist Church (555 Tallowood Rd, Houston, TX 77024) with Robert Glenn Baldwin officiating.
