Sharon Rose Meyer, born on August 25, 1939, in McCloud, California, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
Sharon was the beloved daughter of Russell Duane Michael and Zelma Gladys Wilson Michael, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Otto Frank Meyer and her previous husband, Conrad Emile Boulanger; two sons, Anthony Allen Boulanger and Michael Emile Boulanger; and a great-grandson, Miles Francis Stohlmann. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Michael (Carol); her children, Charles Boulanger, Lori Stohlmann (Jim), David Boulanger, Jay Meyer, and Kenny Meyer (Brenda); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and a nephew.
Sharon spent her early years in Oregon before moving to Florida after marriage. She lived there until her children were grown and later relocated to Michigan. While in Michigan, she pursued higher education and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Grand Rapids Junior College. Sharon went on to work at the college for 10 years before retiring in 1999. After retirement she lived in Virginia, Florida, and finally settled in Houston, TX in 2010, where she joined St. Jerome Catholic Church and enjoyed attending Mass and other activities. She loved her family dinners on Sundays after Mass. She always enjoyed spending time with her family as she loved them dearly.
An avid reader with an insatiable love for books, Sharon often borrowed up to 20 books at a time from the library despite having five large bookshelves full at home. She found joy in butterflies, flowers, and the color purple—simple yet beautiful things that reflected her gentle spirit. She led in happiness no matter her circumstances. She was there to help others in any way she could, always with a smile, and with unwavering faith.
Funeral services will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, located at 8824 Kempwood Rd., Houston, TX 77080, on Saturday, January 18, 2025. There will be a Gathering and Rosary beginning at 9 a.m. with Mass beginning at 10 a.m.
Sharon’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of kindness and love for life bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
