Sheena McNaughton Henderson King Kerwin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, after facing cancer with remarkable courage and grace for just over a year.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sheena carried her Scottish spirit, sharp wit, and warm heart wherever life took her. In her twenties, she immigrated to Canada, where she built a life, married, and welcomed her first two children. Later, the family moved to Indiana, where her third child was born, beginning a life marked by adventure, travel, and deep connections across continents.
Over the years, Sheena called many places home — including Singapore, Tennessee, South Carolina, and finally Houston, Texas, where she was surrounded by family and friends. She embraced the world with curiosity, enthusiasm, and her signature outgoing nature, finding joy in new places, cultures, and people.
Those who knew Sheena will remember her as spirited, witty, energetic, and deeply loving. She had a gift for conversation, laughter, and making others feel welcome. Above all, she treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a doting grandmother whose four cherished grandchildren — with a fifth soon to arrive — were among her greatest joys.
Deeply loved and profoundly missed, Sheena leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and connection that will endure in the lives of all who knew her.
Sheena is survived by her husband, Steven Kerwin; her children, Sarah Pellien (Jordan), Matthew Kerwin (Haley), and Olivia Kerwin; her four treasured grandchildren, Margaret Pellien, Henry Pellien, Jack Pellien, and Fey Elander-Kerwin, with a fifth grandchild soon to arrive; her siblings, Gerald King (Georgina), Morag King, and Duncan King (Linda); her sister-in-law, Irene King; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary King, and her brother, William King.
A celebration of Sheena’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
