SPC Shelton J. Benitez

Survivors are his mother, Gregoria Vasquez; father, Raymundo Benitez; sisters, Yvonne Leon, Andrea Benitez, and Teresita Benitez; Brother, Juan De Dios Benitez; half sister, Sharon Cano Benitez.

Shelton brought light and happiness to his family for the first time on January 25,1999.

He will be remembered for his smile which brightened up a room. With his jokes and kindness, Shelton was always able to turn a frown upside down.

Shelton graduated from Carl Wunsche Sr. High School with honors, top 15% of his class. Before his passing he was attending Lone Star College-North Harris, to receive an academic degree and to further pursue an engineering degree.

Shelton bravely worked as a security officer for Securitas.

He was honored to be a member of Texas Army National Guard and had a passion for shooting guns and airborne jumps.

We can all agree that Shelton has left us too soon, he will be greatly missed by all and remembered forever.

A Celebration of Life will take place in Spanish on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Northwest Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 11810 TC Jester Blvd, Houston, Texas 77067. A visitation will take place on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10:00am with a funeral service at 12:00pm at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. Following, a committal service will take place at 1:15pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
