Born in Houston, Texas, Shirley was a graduate of Westbury High School. She dedicated many years to serving the community through her involvement with the Girl Scouts of America and as a valued Administrative Assistant at Meadow Wood Elementary in the Spring Branch School District, where she worked for 25 years.
Shirley cherished the outdoors, enjoyed traveling, and loved connecting with friends. She was a devoted sister, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sisters, Darlene Morgan and Jurdine Spears; her daughter, Angela Ornce; her son-in-law, Chris Ornce; and her beloved grandchildren, Harrison and Addison.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23rd, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Hungry’s Café on Memorial Drive at 12:00 p.m. We hope that all of those who knew and loved Shirley will come to celebrate her life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the incredible community of neighbors, coworkers, and friends who stood by Shirley during her challenging six-month journey with cancer.
