

In the early hours of March 3, 2016, Shirley Dean Perry, age 78 went to be with the Lord in her home in Houston, TX after a two year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born to the late William Henry Kuykendall and Lena Smith Kuykendall on January 12, 1938 in Fayetteville, TN.
Shirley then graduated from the Flintville High School in 1956. She then went to business school and soon afterwards found love and moved to Houston, Texas were she married Troy Perry. Shirley continued to work in sales as a representative for the hotel chain Holiday Inn. Shirley had a passion for God, Life and for people throughout her lifetime. Shirley was the youngest of nine siblings and always considered the baby girl of the family. Shirley was known for her incredible ability to make anyone at anytime feel like they were her family. Even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the faith and trust of so many. Her impression still lives on in the lives of so many that came across Shirley’s path. Shirley shaped and molded the lives of many and we are truly blessed to have experienced it every day by being around such a light.
Shirley is survived by her two sisters Peggie Karlie Collins of Houston and Robbie Jo Hastings of Orlando, FL, and her nephews Stephen Ralls Collins, Ammiel Josiaa Collins, Kurt Sutton, Kyle Sutton, Terry Britt, Reggio Britt, Michael Hastings, and Ronnie Hastings. She is preceded in death by her brothers; L.V Kuykendall, Val Jean Kuykendall and Billy Kuykendall, sisters; Verna Light, Robbie Jo Hastings, Vida Sutton, Inell Britt and Peggy Collins.
Shirley loved life and she also loved to Read, Pray and be with friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2016 at 11am at Praise Chapel, 18516 Highway 3, Webster, Texas 77598.
