Shirley Ann Reed (Meme) born January 7, 1939 went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 28, 2011. Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She was a musician of many talents. Her passion for music would light up anyone who listened. She could play any instrument you put in front of her. Shirley has done many things in her life from playing in her own all girl band to driving an 18 wheeler. She was a passionate outdoorsman who took pleasure in hunting and fishing. The only thing that surpassed her love for music was how much she adored her family. Family was the reason for everything Shirley did or didn’t do.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Fannie Bell Spinks and Victor Allen Leazer, her brothers Carl, Ira D., Jack Allen, and John, her sisters Ella, Marie, and Patsy, her husband’s J.D. Jernigan, Lexton Reed, and Brian Kimball, and her baby daughter Cindy Lou.
Shirley is survived by her sisters Peggy and husband Clovis, and Mildred, daughters Jackie and Toni Rae, son in law Paul, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren Bj and wife Katy, John, Belinda and husband Shawn, Brandon and wife Candace, Johnny and fiancé Ashley, grandson in law Travis, great grandchildren Shyann, Kali, Ryan, Sandra, Haley, Sherrie, Angelica, Nathan, and future great grandchildren, several dear friends and family.
Meme was and always will be an amazing woman who will be deeply missed! She leaves behind some heavy shoes to fill.
