

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 18, 1951 and was married to Bradley Utz for over 45 years.
In addition to raising one daughter, Shirley was an accounting manager and church administrative assistant. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Florida State University. She had a passion for sewing and knitting, travel across the USA and overseas, missionary work, and animals great and small.
She is survived by her husband, Bradley Utz of Tomball, Texas; her daughter, Judith Tanini, her son-in-law, Yann Tanini, and her granddaughters, Adele and Eloise Tanini of Hoboken, New Jersey; and two sisters, Connie Fry of Cantonment, Florida and Donna Kelly of Baker, Louisiana.
A public visitation for Shirley will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068. A funeral service will occur afterward there from 12:20 PM to 1:20 PM. Burial will occur Monday, December 13, 2021 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
