

Sidney Ray Burgess entered into the loving arms of Jesus at the age of 73, May 28, 2016, following an extensive and courageous 28-year battle with Parkinson’s. He passed peacefully while at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Sid, as he was known, will be remembered for more than thirty-two years of dedicated service to Exxon Corporation in Houston and around the world, his love of classic cars, his extensive Civil War knowledge and soldier collection.
He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Marilyn Burgess; his son, Brett Burgess and wife Cynthia; his daughter, Wendy Richards; step children: Debi Tengler and husband Chris, Sheila Richburg and husband David.
Those who called him “Grandpa” included: Lauren Tengler and Cash Gasaway, Christopher Tengler, Madison Richburg, Dawson Richburg, Ashlon Richburg, Zackery Richards, Brayden Parker, Brianna Parker; great granddaughter, Saige Gasaway; sister, Linda Draper and husband Albert; nieces, nephews, and many friends. His parents, Jack and Cloma Burgess, precede Sid in death.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 2 pm. We will celebrate the life of Sidney Ray Burgess in the chapel at Kaiserhof Retreat Center, 22610 Tuwa Rd., Tomball, TX 77375. (281) 351-2622.
