On that day, we received a text saying our beloved, Simon was being rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Over the past three years, he struggled with a heart transplant, and unfortunately, this time, God has decided for Simon to go home with Him.
Simon is survived by his loving mother, Maria Bui; his father, Kim Thanh Nguyen; his stepfather, Harry Callicotte; and his younger sister, Michelle Nguyen. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Alvin Kim Nguyen, born on October 29, 1988, who passed away on March 24, 2009. Both Simon and Alvin were heart transplant recipients, facing their health challenges with remarkable resilience and grace. Now, they are reunited in heaven, together again.
Simon was a beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have been able to cross paths with him in this lifetime. Those who knew Simon remember him as a kind, joyful, and respectful individual. His positive outlook on life was truly inspiring, and he had a unique ability to lift the spirits of those around him. Simon was known for being outgoing and spontaneous, welcoming everyone with open arms and a warm heart.
One of Simon's most remarkable accomplishments was conquering significant health hurdles with courage and determination. As a heart transplant recipient, he faced immense challenges and lived his life with a spirit of perseverance that touched all who knew him. His journey was made even more poignant by the similar path walked by his beloved brother Alvin. The bond they shared through their experiences was a testament to their strength and love for each other.
Simon's kindness was unforgettable. His peaceful presence and enlightening smile brought comfort and happiness to everyone he met. He was generous with his time and energy, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support. His generosity extended beyond his personal achievements, as he continually sought to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Simon was our "sonlight"; his infectious smiles and beautiful laughter will forever be engraved in our hearts. He spent his time on this earth unselfishly, impacting so many lives, and he will be deeply missed. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
