So Kuen’s life is truly a love story - one can witness this in her devotion to her beloved husband, her care for her children, her support to family far and near, and as a loyal friend to many.
So Kuen was born on April 15, 1931 to father, Ming Wong and mother, May Wong in a small village outside of Guangdong Province of China. So Kuen had an idyllic early childhood with her sisters and brother until warring conditions in the late 1940s compelled the Wong family to seek new beginnings in Hong Kong and eventually immigrating to the United States in the mid 1950s and finally planting new roots in Houston, Texas.
So Kuen like many immigrant Asian families of her generation created a new life of opportunities, raising a family and working hard. So Kuen and her dedicated husband worked many years in the service industry and eventually established their own restaurant with So Kuen’s two sisters and their spouses in the mid 1970s. In addition to working hard - So Kuen was able to travel to many faraway lands with her dear husband and family. Although So Kuen losted the love of her life when her much loved husband, F.O. Go passed in 1990 - as a widower of nearly 35 years - So Kuen was still resilient and her spirit was strong. So Kuen was committed to her family and it is with no doubt that her love continues to be within us.
So Kuen’s legacy is showing us that love is truly eternal. So Kuen is survived by her son, Tony Go, daughter, Anna Go and grandson Alan Go. Also elder sister Wai Lin Ngo and younger sister, Choi Kuen Kwok.
