Spencer Lamont “Monty” Dillon, age 87, was born on the 21st of December 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts and passed away in his home on Thursday, the 30th of March 2017, in Houston. His parents were Spencer and Olive Dillon of Nova Scotia, Canada.
Mr. Dillon retired from National Paper Company in 1991 after 39 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason of Holland Lodge and he graduated from Austin High School in 1947 and the University of Texas in 1951.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jacquelyn Dillon; sons, Stephen, Michael, and David; stepchildren, Curt Hoover and Julie MacInnes. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brendan McAuliffe, Melissa Atkinson, Sara Hoover, Shauna Dillon Epps, Russell Dillon, and three great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank First Light Home Care and Amazing Grace Hospice, for their love and gentle care provided to Mr. Dillon.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from nine o’clock until eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 5th of April, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The interment will follow the visitation, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
