

On October 17, 1951 God blessed Standley and Madie Watson Harrison with a healthy baby boy who they named Standley Lewis Harrison. Standley accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Reverend O. L. Dawson at Ward Chapel A. M. E. Church. Standley was educated in the public schools of Houston Independent School District. Upon graduation from M. C. Williams Junior-Senior High School, he married the love of his life, Treeve Denise Davis. To this union one child was born, Tossyiea Yvonne Harrison. Standley was employed with Cameron Iron Works for many years. He then transitioned into the marble industry and remained there for the last thirty-one years. Standley recently retired from McVey Marble Co. in October 2013 after more than nine years of employment. On Saturday, October 8, 2016, Standley was called home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Treeve Denise Harrison; his only child Tossyiea Yvonne Harrison-Myers; his father Standley Harrison; his maternal grandmother Madie Ethel Brown; maternal grandfather Jeff Watson Jr.; his uncle Jeff Watson III and aunt Esther Watson. Standley’s transition is mourned by his mother, Madie Watson Harrison; two grandsons, Damion Tunwar and Travion Myers; son-in-law, Harry Myers, Jr.; two brothers, Harold Harrison and Terry Harrison (Gail McNeal) of Richlands, North Carolina; four sisters, Patricia Harrison, Hazel Haynes (Ron), Genevia Harrison and Nicola Stanley; three aunts, Georgetta Winston (Thomas), Doris Larry (Edward) and Francis Carrie Pearson of Alexandria, Louisiana; one uncle, David Watson (Joan), the Davis family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends who will miss him dearly.
