Stephen Ray Miller was born on December 22, 1952 in Houston, Texas to parents Helen and Cleao Miller, who preceded him in death. He passed away on April 29, 2022 in Humble, Texas. Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son Chris, daughter Lauren (Jay), four grandchildren: Makayla, Liam, Krue, J’Ana (Marc) and great-grand child Mateo, brother David (Karon) Miller, sister Brenda (Dennis) Schaechter, and numerous extended family members.
He was a graduate of Reagan High School and married his wife Nancy on July 17, 1980. His career began at Suniland Furniture and he later created Steve Miller’s Custom Drapery, Inc., which remained in business for 42 years.
He had a love for baseball, football, fishing, casino gambling, classic country music, road trips, and horse racing. He was well known for being a wheeler and dealer, the life of the party, had a mean two-step, and stood out in any crowd. He loved his family and was truly one-of-a-kind.
A visitation for Stephen will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 6, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 6, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Guidry, David Miller Jr., David Stewart, Dennis Schaechter, Jay MacClintock, J.D. Kesner, Johnny Stewart, Kenny Kesner, Rick Arnold and Al Frenza.
