

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Charles Irion, a beloved brother, son, uncle and friend. Steve was born on June 26, 1963, in Peoria, IL, and his journey through life came to a peaceful end on July 9, 2024, in Sugar Land, TX. His life, though marked by seasons of joy and sorrow, was a testament to love, dedication, and faith, spanning from June 26, 1963, to July 9, 2024.
Steve was the cherished son of Charles & Shirley Irion. Raised in a family that instilled strong values, Steve carried these principles throughout his life. He is preceded in death by parents Charles & Shirley Irion, Christy Phillips, grandparents Eldon & Lillian Irion, Percy & Henriette Rule, who now welcome him into eternal peace. Survived by his loving siblings Chip and Wendy Irion, Daniel Irion and Kirk Kveton, and Kelly Shaw, nephew Mason and Alyssa Irion. Steve leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his memory. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who were touched by his generosity and warmth.
Steve served his country with honor as a member of the US Airforce, a testament to his commitment and dedication. After his military service, Steve enjoyed a fulfilling career before retiring, embracing the simple joys of life and spending time with his loved ones.
Known for his unwavering love for his family and God, Steve’s faith was a guiding light, offering him strength and comfort throughout his life. His legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A funeral service to honor Steve's life will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Houston Humane Society, an organization close to Steve's heart, reflecting his compassion and love for all living creatures.
Steve Irion will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him in return. Rest in Heaven, Steve.
