

Gant and Essie Wells in Victoria, Texas. Both parents, daughter
Geraldine Hicks and great grandsons William Satterfield Jr and
Jacob Cain preceded him in death.
Sullivan accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. He
attended schools in Victoria and Houston, Texas. After
graduation, Sullivan attended Texas Southern University. He
later joined the United States Army where he served until
honorably discharged,where he then resided in Houston, Texas.
Sullivan moved to Los Angeles, California in the 50’s. He was
employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring after more
than thirty years of service.
In 1995, Sullivan relocated to Houston. A short time after
arriving here, he united with South Union Church of Christ
where he thoroughly enjoyed the leadership and fellowship. He
had several hobbies such as carpentry, scratch cooking and
bowling which was his favorite. He was a member of several
bowling teams that won championships and trophies. Helping
others was something he was big on, especially with the younger
generations.
He leaves in God’s care: his daughter (Pearlene Richardson),
grandchildren (Charles Johnson, Teresa Richardson, Patrice
Richardson-Matthews (Chester), Yolanda Richardson, Tina
Thomas (Drexel), Willie Johnson, Shatammie Hicks), 20 great
grands, 27 great-great grands and a host of other family and
friends.
