Susan Einersen (née Hankin), 59, of Spring, TX, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Chicago, IL, on April 22, 1966, and grew up in the Chicago area. She was the loving wife of Derek Einersen, the love of her life, for 35 years.
Sue had a career in medical administration for a number of years, and a lifelong passion for teaching children – both hers and others. She homeschooled both of her children through high school, pouring her love, wisdom, and patience into every lesson, often creating inventive field trips to bring their lessons to life. She loved baseball (especially her beloved Chicago Cubs) and found joy in playing pickleball. She also came to love the rodeo after moving to Texas.
Her adventurous spirit and love of puzzles shone through in everything she did – including her passions for cooking, music (she played the oboe for many years throughout her life), and art. Her faith in Christ anchored her life, as did her love for her family. She was known for her quiet generosity, gentle wisdom, and lighthearted wit – and for always strengthening and encouraging those around her. She lived a life of mercy, purity, peace, and blessing to all. Even in her final days, Sue's grace never wavered as she continued to shine forth the light of Christ finishing her race with joy. She leaves a legacy of love.
Sue is survived by her husband, Derek; her children, Benjamin and Dana Einersen; and her brother James (Kim) Hankin.
