Susan Atkins Rooks, age 64, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2014, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Rooks, and her daughter Shannon Hetzler. She also leaves behind the loves of her life, her two grandsons, Chase and Brody Hetzler. She was a longtime resident of Houston and graduated from Madison High School. She retired from Rice University after 20 years and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
