Suzanne was born on the 5th of April 1940, in Gonzales, Texas. She was the daughter of the late John G. and Gladys Towns. She grew up in Waelder, Texas and graduated from Waelder High School where she was a star basketball player in 1958. She graduated from Southwest Texas State with a degree in education and taught high school physical education at Sam Houston High School for many years.
Suzanne married Jerry Dennis Sacks on July 27, 1968, in Waelder, Texas and found the love of her life. Suzanne and Jerry lived in Houston, but they loved to travel. They would travel multiple times a year, and especially loved taking cruises to the Caribbean where she would pick out a special treasure to take home.
Suzanne took great pride in her many collections, the most impressive of which is a collection of over 600 antique irons that she purchased over the years on her travels with Jerry and at antique fairs that she attended with her sister and daughter. The one thing Suzanne loved most of all was spending time at her farm and discussing cattle. She and Jerry would travel to the farm every weekend to get out of the city and work around the ranch. She enjoyed riding her “hoopie” all around the farm and feeding her cows “cow cookies.”
The only thing Suzanne loved more than her farm was her family and spending time with them. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Dennis Sacks; her daughter Jennifer Sacks Parr, her son-in-law, Christopher Burks Parr; her grandson Keller Christopher Parr all of Houston, Texas; and her sister Beverly Clark of Flatonia, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents John G and Gladys Towns.
