We cannot believe it has been three years. You are missed big time in our lives. We missed you in every milestone our kids had, and we all pray and think of you daily. 

You are forever the best mother and best grandmother in the universe.

Dear Teta,

When I think of you, the first thing that pops in my head is your gentle soul, how caring and loving you always were but yet strong in your beliefs, culture, religion, family, ideas and facts. The list goes on and on, Teta was exceptional in her morals and values. She taught me how to prioritize cleanliness around the house - helping mom out as much as possible, demanded how to be presentable, ladylike and most importantly love and lean on family the most. When Teta visited for six months out of the year, I remember my mom saying, “teta is coming in a few weeks,” we used to set up her room with her chair, coffee table for her Ipad, four water bottles and her assortment of lotion, vicks, tweezers, nail kit, medicine etc. When Teta finally arrived, she made me feel happy and complete. The older I grew, I used to see my mom come home from work and be with Teta in her room talking about everything and anything. It made me feel so happy that when I used to see their bond, I wanted to be a part of it every time I came home and just listen to what they were talking about, even if I didn’t have a single idea. I used to look at Teta and think about how amazing of a women she was and her grit. It puts me at peace knowing that she is finally with Jido Karim, a man I wish I could’ve known after all the amazing stories you, mom and auntie Daniela told me. Before you left to Texas you said, “be strong, take care of yourself” and I will never forget that. I want to make you proud every day because I know you’re watching over me forever. Teta, I will be the only one in the family to perfect your breaded chicken and pasta recipe, even though I wish you were still here how to teach me because I am terrible at cooking. I got this Teta! I miss you Teta and I will love you forever. You are in paradise now.

Dear Mom, 
Things are not the same without you. I miss you in every moment. Our memories are in my mind. I miss you, Mom. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for being there all the time.

Teta Teresa, the strongest, most knowledgable, and loving grandma. From when we were kids until the day you left, not only took care of mama and Auntie Daniela, but all grandkids as well. Teta was the only one who continuously taught me the importance of being a young lady, in ways to help mom, the family, and to be able to take care of myself. To Teta, family meant everything. She always reminded us the most important people in our lives is  our family. In times like this, especially in this situation, Teta, we came together as a family and we were here with you and each other every step of the way.  We will continue to hold your lessons and values in our hearts and carry them on to our families. Teta, the last time we spoke, you came off sedation, Auntie Daniela held the camera near your face and I asked you, "Teta if you really love me open your eyes!"...and you did. So wide and looked at the camera. I love you too, Teta. Forever. May you continue to watch over us and protect us always. Love you. 

Mama you are forever the  most beautiful, strong and graceful mother on this planet. It was a wonderful journey to have you as a mom. We stuck together through thick and thin. When dad passed away you held our hands and took care of us all the way till the end. You always had that most kind and positive outlook  to life, you always helped us see through the obvious and be strong and face life with dignity and grace. You were the family when no family was around. You filled our hearts with so much love that no matter what others did it did not break us. Yet you forgave everyone, and lived a very peaceful, religious and happy life. We never cried over what is lost rather stood up and built on what we have, ourselves, and that was more precious.  Life will never feel or taste the same without you. We are proud to have named our children after you and dad.  God is smiling down upon you as he opens heaven’s gates  , Jesus is there with all your loved ones ready to welcome you.
