On February 15, 2001, in Houston, Texas, Terry Lechone Berryman Sr. and Lakeisha Berryman-Williams
were blessed with a precious gift from God, and they named him Terry Lechone Berryman Jr., affectionately known as TJ.
TJ attended Channelview High School and Cypress Fairbanks ISD graduating from Cy Falls High School in 2019. In school, during his junior year at Channelview High, TJ became a certified welder MIG/TIG. TJ was also part of the FFA program.
TJ was a true cowboy. He had a love for horses so much so that he would walk miles to take care of the horse he had. TJ loved going on trail rides. Whenever he knew a ride was going on he wanted to be there, chances were if you were looking for him, he was on a trail ride with friends. TJ was a member of the Down 2 Earth Trail Riders and the Austonio Wild Bunch Trail Riders.
His life’s journey began as a headstrong, but fun-loving child who had a way of touching all he came in contact with. He loved spending time with family and friends, along with dancing, singing, and community service. TJ brightened the darkest room and uplifted the lowest spirit. When you needed to laugh, you could always count on him to deliver a gut buster with a laugh to make you laugh even harder. He was truly one of a kind. TJ had a unique personality; and always had a smile on his face.
TJ was reared in the Church of God in Christ all his life. He attended Carverdale Community Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. (Elder Freddie L. Solomon), then New Life Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. (Pastor Carl Davis Sr.). Then shortly after graduating high school he joined Renewed Faith Family Worship Center Church where he accepted Christ (Pastor Derick Carter Sr.).
TJ had a great love for his parents, his siblings and his nieces and nephews. He held them close to his heart, his vibrant personality, his corny sense of humor, his bright smile and the love he had for his family and friends is the memory we will hold on to forever.
Terry Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Earl McGathon Sr. (PaPa), Frankie McGathon (Madea), LeRoy Harrison (PaPa) and Merline Harrison (Big Granny); paternal grandparents, Thomas Berryman and Mae Bell Berryman (Granny) and a host of extended elder family members.
To cherish and honor his memories, TJ leaves his mother, Lakeisha A. Williams (Kelvin); his father, Terry Berryman Sr. (Tiehesha); one sister, Mechele Hayes; two brothers, Kechone E. Berryman and Corey J. Berryman; two bonus siblings, Alexus Anderson and Davion Anderson; two nephews, Jeremih Jackson and Tristan Teves; three nieces, Ta’Hanni Berryman, Milan Gardner and Zamia Mayo; grandparents, Roy Harrison Sr. and Vicki Harrison; aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
