

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt C. Dunn and Bess Parker Dunn; sisters, Bess Dunn Fauntleroy and Dorothy Dunn Davis; brother, Dewitt C. Dunn, Jr.; nephew, John Fauntleroy; and by his nieces, Catherine Fauntleroy Rote and Ann Dunn.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Shepherd Dunn; sister, Orline Dunn Maer; step-daughter, Marion Shepherd Frazer; step-son, David Powell Shepherd; nieces, Joan Davis O'Leary, Dorothy Davis Gray, Betsy Fauntleroy Glasgow, Elizabeth Dunn Zientek, Katherine M. Maer, and Mary Elizabeth Maer Tipple; and by his nephews, Tom Martin Davis, Newton Kemp Maer, William Dewitt Maer, and Dewitt Dunn. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved.
Tommy "Bolo" graduated from St. Thomas High School and then from Rice University in 1943. He attended midshipman school at Northwestern University in Chicago and served on USSLST 501 in the European Theater of Operations.
Tommy attended law school at the University of Texas, graduating in 1949. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He practiced law in Houston with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
In 1995, Tommy married Estelle Shepherd. They shared many happy times traveling, and playing golf and bridge.
Tommy enjoyed and appreciated his weekly "pot pie" lunches with friends, Cliff Wilson, Conrad Bering, and Jim Harter.
Tommy considered himself a fortunate man in the relatives and friends who enriched his long life.
The family wishes to express their thanks to his caregivers: Dollie White, Donna Prince, Lisa White, and Beverly Pearson.
The interment service is to be conducted at a quarter-past noon on Saturday, the 29th of September, at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Avenue in Houston.
The memorial service is to follow at half-past one o'clock in the afternoon, also on Saturday, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road in Houston, where the Rev. Thomas B. Mailloux, C.S.B., Senior Priest, is to serve as the presider. Afterwards, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the nearby St. Teresa Living Room.
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in Tommy's memory may be directed to the Post Oak Club, 306 Northwest Mall, Houston, TX, 77092; St. Thomas High School, 4500 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX, 77007; or to a charity of one's choice .
