

Thomas Turner Pope, III, 80, of Houston died, Sunday January 22, 2017. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle and died peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas after several years of declining health.
Mr. Pope was born December 21, 1936 in Limon, CO to Virginia Lee Shockley Pope and Thomas Turner Pope, Jr. He was a graduate from University of Oklahoma and University of Texas Law School. He was especially proud of his military service in the army and for his 50 years as a practicing attorney in Houston. He was an enthusiastic art collector.
Turner is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nita Pope and children Maria, Monica, Turner and Christopher Pope. Grandchildren; Madeline, Christina, Lili and Grace, and his sister Stacy Tyler. He was passionate about his family and their accomplishments and their support in difficult times.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX 77024, with a reception to follow in the Community Center at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank everyone at the Buckingham, Kindred at Home Caregivers and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to give to the charity of your choice to St. Cecilia Music Ministry, in honor of his memory.
