

Thomas Jefferson "TJ" Reynal beloved father, grandfather, friend, and renowned electronics engineer passed away on June 11, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 84.TJ was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dolores Wactor Reynal and brother Edd Reynal of Bay City, TX. He is survived by his only child Tom D. Reynal of Houston, and his two grandchildren Ashley Reynal and Wes Reynal, also of Houston, as well as many other beloved relatives around Texas.
TJ was born November 15, 1930 in Tyler, Texas, the second son of Edward Werner Reynal and Ruth Davis. He spent his youth in Bay City, Texas and graduated from Bay City High School in 1949. He attended Wharton Junior College for two years and then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, serving as a Radar Technician. He married Dolores Wactor of Slidell, LA while stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi. After serving a tour of duty in Japan during the Korean War, the family moved to Houston where Tom graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent all of his adult life in Houston, from West University Place between 1953-1969 and then residing in the Memorial area since 1970.
TJ was one of those fortunate souls that made a career out of his hobby - the design and manufacture of electronic products and systems. His esteemed career was centered around supervisory control ("SCADA") systems, spanning several companies including Southwest Industrial Electronics, International Controls Corp. (TRW Controls), Dresser Industries, Systronics, Reynal Controls, and American Digital Corp., all of the greater Houston area, and usually as Principle/Chief Design Engineer. During his lifetime he was awarded several U.S. patents including designs for Data Acquisition methods, Power Systems, and Valve Metering. He had an avocation for complicated puzzles and loved to tinker in his garage.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer, in Houston on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 12 pm. If you cannot attend, please remember TJ in your prayers.
