

Having worked in the funeral industry for over 50 years, at the time of her death, Tommie was still a loyal employee of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors. Throughout the years, she served professionally in many roles but was most proud of her skills as a hairdresser and cosmetologist.
Tommie was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Vernon L. Galloway; her husband, John Kenneth Castleberry; her son, John Kenneth Castleberry, Jr.; second husband, John Wesley “Pete” McCandlish, Jr. She is survived by her cousins, Novella Alton Bales, Fannie Raye Ivy and Frankie Faye Cooper; nephews, Kenneth R. Fuller and his wife Wanda and their sons and families, Joe Michael Fuller and wife Carol and their sons and daughter, and Joseph Salvato, III.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 13th of April, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at half-past one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 14th of April, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortège, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
