Born in Bryan, Texas to Italian immigrants Bill and Rosa Morille, Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, touring Japan and the Philippines on the USS Yorktown from 1953 to 1957. Following his naval service, Tony served in the Naval Reserves until 1961.
Attending the University of Houston on the GI Bill, Tony graduated in 1964 with a degree in Applied Science – the first to graduate from college in his family. Tony worked in the hotel industry as a Chief Engineer for over 40 years including management positions with Continental Houston, Royal Coach Inn, Hyatt Regency and The Four Seasons. After retiring from the hotel industry, he worked as Chief Engineer for Lamar Towers and Villa d’ Este for 18 years.
During his career, Tony spent nearly two decades teaching HVAC Systems at the BOMA Institute for Stationary Engineers at Houston Community College. He also served as President of the Chief Operating Engineers Association and Hotel Engineers Association.
In his retirement, Tony enjoyed the treasures he found while metal detecting. An avid outdoorsman, his greatest joys were spent hunting and fishing with friends and his son, Rock, especially along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Tony is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; his son Rock and wife Trish Morille, his daughter Pam and husband Greg Wellen, and grandchildren Erica Wellen, Cory Wellen, Katherine Morille and Rock Lucas Morille.
