Tony V. Ramirez

Tony V. Ramirez born August 7, 1929, departed at age 82 on July 26, 2012 in Houston, Texas after a heroic struggle with melanoma cancer and parkinson's disease. Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by son Raynaldo Ramirez and granddaughter Amber. Retired from Merit Homes, Homebuilding to spend more time with wife Rose and his family. He retired to his farm in Cleveland, Texas in the mid 1980's to continue a life outdoors. His days of hunting, fishing, and a passion for watching boxing and baseball.

He is survived by beloved wife Rose of 65 years. Sons Jerry C. Ramirez and wife Angela and Robert Ramirez; Daughter Sandra Woodruff and her husband Edward; Grandchildren Wesley, Kurt and his partner Amanda, Sandy and Jessica; great grandchildren Kayla, Kellee, Natasha and Damien; Sisters Jane Pardo, Martha Barron, Toni Ramirez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 30th, 2012 at 10 o'clock in the morning at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 2140 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77098. Services will be officiated by Father Jay Walsh C.S.B. Family is especially grateful to his caregiver and friend Gonzalo. Donations can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in his name. At the conclusion of services there will be a reception held at The Courtyard on St. James Place. 1885 St. James Place Houston, Texas 77056.
