When someone says something will happen in 7 months, you would immediately put it in  the back of your mind. 7 months is a very long time, it's over half a year. But that was all my Dad got, and before we knew it, 7 months quickly became 1 month, then 1 week, 1 day, and just like that my Dad was gone!
People who knew my Dad would remember him for his love of golf , his calmness, friendliness and his delicious cooking.  But for me some of  my fondest memories of him was our epic arguments took place at  dinner table. Every single day without fail once the last grain of rice was eaten, my dad and I would argue over the most ridiculous things which  sometimes evolved into shouting matches that my mom had to mediate. The argument could get so heated that we wouldn't talk to each other for a day or two , because like father like son, we were both stubborn in our own way. I hope my Dad liked those arguments as I secretly had. It was something special we share.
Despite all his time here and what he had seen and accomplished, my Dad will not see my sister and I graduate , he won't be celebrating with us when we get our first real job. He will not be here to walk my sister down the aisle; nor will he be here when his first grandchild is born. While it is sad to realize my Dad will miss all of those events, I think it is consoling to know that wherever he is, Dad will pause the golf tournament he is playing , look down on us with a huge smile on his face, happy and proud of what we have become. 
We love and miss you Dad!



It's hard to believe that Chu Bich is no longer with us.  It felt like yesterday that he was sitting here eating and enjoying one of our family gatherings.  I remember the last time I met him.  It was just a few months ago during my visit to Houston.  We all sat around and had crawfish together.  Chu Bich didn't have much of an appetite at the time as he was already getting treatment for his illness.  Nevertheless, he was there to meet all of us.  He was still in high spirits even though he wasn't physically healthy as he used to be.  He said he couldn't eat crawfish but he brought his own food with him.  He pulled out a purple yam.  The memory of that purple yam remains with me until now and it will remain with me every time I see a purple yam.

As I said good bye to him for the last time today, I know he will be a guiding light to his family and friends.  Chu Bich, you will truly be missed.  May you rest is peace

Bich was truly a great guy and good friend.  Met him along with others on the golf course and we used to play a lot on Friday afternoons in the local area.  He was a compassionate and carrying guy with lots of humor.  He will be sorely missed.  Picture is from our recent golf tournament in Austin and San Antonio.  RIP, hit them long and straight in heaven my friend!

My condolences to the family. I had the fortunate opportunities to play golf with anh Bich at HVGA tournaments. He was a great golf mate. A super nice guy. He will be missed by all HVGA members but we are glad that he is no longer suffering. May he rest in peace.
