

Tressa Lea White passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, enveloped in the loving arms of her family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who was adored both by her family and friends and brought much joy to all who knew her.
Tressa was born on October 31, 1929, in Groesbeck, Texas to Mary and Granville Lenamond. She grew up in Dallas, where she met and married the love of her life, Byron Wayne White. They were married for 47 years.
Throughout her life Tressa volunteered countless hours to community and church. She was a dedicated member of St Luke’s United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she enjoyed service as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School leader, and working on the information desk while her husband, Wayne, served for decades as an usher. She also cherished her membership in the Blue Bird Circle, working in the Bluebird Gift Shop for many years as well as various fundraising activities and the painting of countless eggs each year for The Bluebird Easter Egg Project.
Tressa is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Wayne White, parents, and beloved sisters, Mary Helen Lenamond and Imogene Merritt. She is survived by her children, Vikki White Bevers and husband, Randy; Shelley Marie White; Byron Randall White and wife, Kim; and Kirby Wayne White; grandchildren Braxton and Barrett Smith and Hillary and Byron White; her brother, Granville W Lenamond, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 21st of January, in the library and grand foyer of Geo H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston
The funeral service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 22nd of January, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, where Dr. Linda Christians, Executive Pastor, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception.
The Family will gather for a private interment service.
