Veda Mae Kent

Born April 17, 1921, the youngest of 11 children born to L. E. and Stella McCracken Seaman of Mineral Wells, TX. She graduated from the University of Houston and loved her Cougars. In 1945, Veda married Ralph Wofford and raised three children. They remained married until his death in 1972.

In 1974 Veda married Richard Kent and moved to Smithville where they developed Valley Mountain Ranch. Devoting the next 20 years to becoming a respected breeder of black angus - it became her passion.

Veda was spunky, funny and a treasure to her family; a wonderful mother always putting her children (and beloved doggies) first; loyal to family and friends.

We will miss our beautiful mother and are so thankful for every moment, good, bad, happy or sad, given to us. Blessed with happiness, she is survived by daughter Pam and husband Don Herrmann, daughter Priscilla, son Tim and wife Cecilie Wofford, two grandchildren, Kara Wofford, Kit Herrmann and wife Lauren, beloved sister-in-law Violet Seaman, nieces and nephews.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Christina Basco, Chris Lewis and Melissa Crane for their devoted, tender care of mother. In lieu of flowers, the family, on behalf of mother, would be thankful if memorials be made as donations to your favorite animal welfare organization.
