

Vic graduated from Texas A&M University in 1941, where he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie band. He was first and foremost always an Aggie.
Upon graduation, he served his country honorably as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne. He was part of the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944, and earned a Purple Heart.
Vic was owner of Metropolitan Employment Service and was appointed by Governor John Connolly to be the first president of Texas Private Employment Services Association.
He was a member of numerous professional organizations.
Vic was a member of the Houston A&M Club, the Downtown Lions Club, and the Texas A&M Century Club.
Vic was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Houston and served in many volunteer roles.
Vic’s family, from his wife to his great-grandchildren, were the center of his life and he kept in daily contact with all their activities via telephone.
Vic is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Doris Giese Koenig, his son; Bill Koenig and wife Susan of LaGrange, Texas, his daughter: Diane Holden and husband, Don, his grandchildren: Kristi and Terry Bryan, Andy & Angela Holden, Lee and Rachel Koenig, and his three great-grandchildren: Ashleigh Holden, Luke Bryan and Daniel Bryan.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his caregivers who were devoted to him.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until six o'clock in the evening on Saturday, the 7th of August, in the Library of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 9th of August, at First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. Bill Heston is to officiate.
Immediately following the service, friends joined the family for a reception in the adjacent Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that contributions in Vic’s name be directed to First Presbyterian Church, or to The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, Texas A&M University.
