July 17, 1941 – June 1, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of our cherished Viola Yolanda Acuna Beal, who left this world on June 1, 2025, surrounded by family. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and the radiant soul of our family, Viola lived her life with passion, warmth, and grace.
Those who were close to her simply called her Vi.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Vi graduated from Harlandale High School and San Antonio Commercial College in 1961. Always driven by curiosity and ambition, she later earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University in 1982. After marrying the love of her life, Milton, they made their home in Houston, Texas. There, she built a fulfilling career as a Certified Public Accountant with M&D Distributors, where she worked until retirement.
Vi was a vibrant force – spirited, joyful, and endlessly kind. She found her bliss in life’s simplest pleasures: casting her line from the shores of Port Aransas, basking in the sun, or dancing barefoot to the rhythm of her favorite songs. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where nature and family intertwined in perfect harmony.
She had a special love for animals, especially her loyal canine companions, Norma Jean and Roxy, who were never far from her side. Whether on quiet walks or lively road trips, they were part of her beautiful journey.
Vi’s infectious laugh, love of dancing (especially with her sister-in-law and family), and enthusiasm for travel made every gathering feel like a celebration. With Milton, her partner in life and adventure, she traveled far and wide, collecting memories as vivid and joyful as she was. But above all, her heart belonged to her family. She was the soul of every gathering – nurturing, wise, and full of boundless love.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Francisco Martinez and Dionicia Benavides Trevino; her parents, Aurelio Mora and Clara Trevino Acuna; her beloved husband, Milton Beal; and her brothers Johnny T. (Victoria), Henry T. (Rebecca), and Ernest T. Acuna.
She is survived by her brothers Willie T. Acuna (Gracie), Antonio T. Acuna (Yolanda), Aurelio T. Acuna (the late Lydia); her sisters Gloria A. Gonzales (Jerome), Patsy A. Martinez (Ernest); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly and will honor her memory with lasting affection.
Vi leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was truly a phenomenal woman who showed us how to live freely, love deeply, and embrace joy in every moment.
Dance freely, fish forever, and rest peacefully, dearest Vi.
We’ll meet you at the beach.
