Aunt Viola,

On this day and every day I think of you and the vibrant, big hearted soul you were. You were more than my Aunt, you were my friend, confidante, and my mentor in more ways than one. I love you today, tomorrow and miss you even more.

To Allen, Rae, and Quinten: you are dear cousins and we have  temporary been parted from our love one and best friend and cry we will but don’t cry as one with no hope because God is our strength and is with us for all needs, lean on him and he will console us. My prayers to the family

When I was wedding planning with mom, we opened her wedding dress and  lace veil at one of my fittings. Her lace, cathedral- length veil had been boxed for 45 years and it was in pristine condition. This was her reaction as her veil was unboxed. Seeing my mom so over joyed became one of my treasured  moments with her. 
I was honored to wear my moms veil on my wedding day it was these special moments we shared together during that time that were some of my favorites with her. 

Mom Boute' was a beautiful soul. 
She made you feel like you already knew her.
 She was friendly and warm, with the sweetest disposition. Aalways with open arms.
 And although at 1st glance quiet, she would make statements sometimes to really make you  laugh, take you back.  
 ..with Rae and I  being joined at the hip, I spent a lot of time at her home.  The endless summer nights and weekends.
She was so involved and present, she knew everything going on, she spent so much time with us, and that's into college.we both have stories of our moms calling checking on us in our 20's 
 I can't tell you how many times new faces came in-and-out of their home . A rotation sometimes on the couch of aspiring artists, friends, family,  everyone. 
Mom Boutte' was loving And always had Room for whoever needed  It. Her sweet spirit was magnetic. 
 She was a wonderful cook,She could also make the most  simplist things taste so wonderful!   She seemed to take joy in feeding you. Mom Boutte' loved on you. She loved my sister, my mom, and my children just the same.
 I don't think that she delighted in more of a role than being mom. Rae and Quinton were her world. (Let them know Lord, she'll be right there, in their hearts.)

I know she will  be greatly missed by so many.
And even though, by blood,  she wasn't my mom , or my sgrandmother, or my aunt, she always
 made me feel like I was a part of her family.

Aunt Viola was so happy on Rae and Ramon’s wedding day.  I was able to capture a shot of her as they said their vows.

Aunt Viola (my Aunt Mookie)...I am honored and blessed to be your niece. You shared a lifetime of love with everyone. You will forever be in my heart . .... Hug & Kiss  my Mom , Mawmaw, Pawpaw, and Lee Lee. Rest in Paradise, I love you.

I salute you Mrs. Boutte..May the grace of God's mercy keep you & your family both now and  forever more. You are  Incredibly loving..accepted me for who I am. Opened up my eyes to a world I would have Never known, and trusted me with your family who All embraced me like I was one of your own.
I'll always remember your smile...our late  night talks while eating some of the Best Food I've ever had....Salute!!!


How special you made everyone feel will be everlasting. You were an amazing wife, mother and woman. A true Queen who made an everlasting mark and legacy. Your beautiful presence will be missed, but your memories and love will last a lifetime in our hearts. Sending my deepest condolences to Mr. Boutte, Rae, Que and family.

Being a member of The Ebony Girls Birthday Social Club with Viola was a joyous occasion. She was such a bright addition to the club portraying so much love 💕 for all. Opening her home to us exemplified her character as the loving person she was. She will be greatly missed.

Aunt Mookie, it’s not to many people like you. An amazing wife, mother, and sister all in one. I have so many memories of you which makes me smile. The nights i stayed over and you cooked my favorite meals no matter the time. The days you opened your home too me, my mother, my sister and my beautiful daughters without notice. Nobody could tell you about your family, and that’s what made you the Queen you are. I know you have some company up there give Lee Lee,  Papa, and Gala a kiss for me. Rest Well my angel, Tiko 

It was a blessing to be your niece and I thank God he chose  you to be my Aunt. Time has ceased but cherished memories and our love for you  will linger forever. Rest in peace Aunt Viola.
