Virginia Cardona Ramirez, 94, of Houston, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas, on April 11, 1931, to parents Vincent Louis Cardona and Maria Refugio Martinez Cardona.
Virginia graduated from Milby High School. She met Asael “Lito” Ramirez at Skate Land on Capital Avenue and they were married on October 16, 1951. Virginia worked in telecommunications at Southwestern Bell for 12 years. She was a member of the High Meadows Garden and Civic Club and had a passion for cooking, sewing, ceramics, baking, instructing aerobics, gardening, and being a wonderful caretaker of her entire family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent L. Cardona; her mother, Maria R. M. Cardona; son, Victor Ramirez; her sisters Pauline Gonzales, Esther Renteria, Mary Rodriguez, and Josephine Quintana; and her husband, Asael “Lito” Ramirez.
She is survived by her her daughters Lucinda Gandara, Laura A. Casanova, and Theresa D. Vela; her grandchildren Estee Casanova Wiltz and husband Ty Wiltz, Jacob A. Casanova and wife Marcela Casanova, Nicholas J. Garza, Marisa A. Kemp and husband Cody Kemp, and Michael Gandara and wife Kelsey Proffitt; and her great-grandchildren Mia I. Casanova, Nathan J. Casanova, Eva G. Wiltz, and Emilia M. Casanova.
