(November 29th, 1963 - September 20th, 2023)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Viviana Carrillo, on September 20, 2023, at the age of 59. She went home to our Heavenly Father surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Born on November 29, 1963, in Barranquilla, Colombia, Viviana was a beacon of love, strength, and compassion. She devoted her life to her family, always putting our needs above her own. Her unconditional love was a guiding light that shaped our lives and the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Viviana was not only a loving mother but also a devoted wife to her husband, Manuel Carrillo. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, where lifelong memories were made.
She was a pillar of strength, often facing life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her unwavering faith provided solace and comfort during difficult times, setting an example we will forever cherish.
Viviana's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She was a friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting word, or a delicious meal. For a decade, she protected children on their journey to and from school as a crossing guard for Alief ISD. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds.
In her free time, Viviana created a beautiful garden, where her hibiscus and rose flowers continue to bloom. Finding joy in simplicity, she enjoyed puzzles, old-school TV, and telenovelas, and also collected a museum of ornate eggs in her dining room. She loved sharing her delicious homecooked meals with family, bringing loved ones together around the dinner table to unwind, laugh, and let go.
Viviana's legacy of love and compassion will live on through her children: John Carrillo, Alexander Carrillo, Daniel Carrillo, and Andrew Carrillo. She is also survived by her parents Maria and Marco Monterrosa and her siblings Merlys Monterrosa Wilkerson and Marco Monterrosa.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Viviana Monterrosa Carrillo’s life at her funeral service, which will take place on October 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Garden Oaks Funeral Home.
Viviana touched the lives of many, leaving a permanent mark of love and kindness. Though we mourn her loss deeply, we take comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide and protect us for the rest of our lives.
In her memory, we will strive to live by her example, spreading love, kindness, and compassion to all we encounter.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend. You will forever be in our hearts.
With love and gratitude,
The Carrillo and Monterrosa Family
