

Walter C. Rowe, 67, of Houston, Texas, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022. He was born in Washington DC on May 30th, 1955, the son of Lonnie Rowe and Lois (Robinson) Rowe of Medical Lake, Washington. He attended local schools and graduated from Medical Lake High School in 1973. While in High School, he participated in many sports, especially tennis. He achieved scouting highest honor, Eagle Scout.
Shortly after high school, Walter Joined the FBI in July, 1973 where he trained and worked as a latent print specialist for ten years. After, he moved on to the Houston Police Department where he continued his career as a latent print examiner. Our understanding, he was known by his peers as one of the best in his field. His work as a latent print examiner earned him the admiration and respect of his colleges. He reached the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 2017 after 44 years of service.
Walter loved waterfalls, travel, and especially bowling. His travels took him from Germany to Hawaii, California to Massachusetts, and many points in between. One of his favorite traveling companions was his mother. The two of them would spend weeks out and about. Bowling was his favorite pastime and was a member of several leagues with his friends Eddie and Mary Roden, Christopher King, and Timothy Anderson. 33 times, he traveled to the United States Bowling Congress Nationals in Las Vegas and other locations throughout the United States and competing in team, pairs, and individual events.
Walter leaves behind his sisters Deborah Woods and her husband Glenn and their daughter Kimberly, Gail Lowery and her husband Dave with her sons Charles, Lonnie, and Donald Pruett, and his son Charles Lowery and daughter Deatra Lowery, and Jeanette Rowe with her sons Brandon and his wife Michelle and Jacob Bowman and his partner Vee-Ann and all his great nieces and nephews. Walter is preceded by his parents Lonnie and Lois Rowe and his great nephew Elijah Rowe.
A memorial service for Walter will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity or organization in Walter’s honor.
