

Wayne was born on September 23, 1943 to Eunice and Willis Holden. He grew up in Jacinto City and graduated from Galena Park High School. He was a member of the football team that played for a state championship. Those team members are represented as the Pallbearers here today. He had a real respect for each of them and considered all of them as his friend. After high school, he attended Tyler Junior College and the University of Houston.
He was first employed by Houston Lighting and Power Company where he met his wife, Liz. They were married in 1964 which resulted in a 51 year marriage.
As his life progressed he became committed to selling and manufacturing a product call a sootblower. From Manufacturer Representative to Vice President of a sootblower company he began to design and manufacture the product. He holds several patents for redifications and improvements, and design of the product. He was fortunate to sell his own design in many plants and still has them operating today.
He was fortunate to travel all over the world in different capacities in the sootblower industry.
His love of the beach and playing golf resulted in him loving Destin, Florida. He loved living there and spent countless hours on the beach and on the golf course. He only came back to Houston for his grandson.
He is survived by his wife Liz, son David and wife Tammy, son Michael Holden, Kelly Adams and grandson Chevas. Also brother Paul Holden and wife Kelly, sister Mary Ann Nixon.
