

Weldon “W. D.” Killian, Jr., 78, of Jersey Village, Texas, passed away on October 22, 2014, after a sudden illness. He was born on September 9, 1936 to Weldon Davis Killian, Sr. and Azalee Killian in Idalou, Texas. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955. He became involved with farming in the Roosevelt community and worked for the Lubbock Fire Department until he moved to the city in 1978. He then moved to Houston in 1979 where he worked in various sales positions until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting and restoring antique tractors, bass fishing and playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are the mother of his children, Mellie Killian of Jersey Village, Texas; his four children, Wesley Killian and fiancé Teresa Paup of Charlotte, North Carolina, Rhonda Schulz and husband Charley, of Lubbock, Texas, Melanie Killian of Houston, Texas, Mark Killian and wife Susan of Jersey Village, Texas; nine grandchildren, Weston Killian and wife Michelle, Wade Killian, Zachary Schulz, Angela Watson and husband Brad, Molly Killian, Mellie Klair Yetter and husband Collin, Blake Killian, Christopher Killian and Kyle Killian; four great grandchildren (Wyatt, Riley, Brad and Evie) and two more on their way; two sisters, Doris Jean Pullen and Dorthy Faye “Kitty” Killian and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek in Houston, Texas at 4:00. Prior to the celebration, a visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00.
The family will have a visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas, Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Burial will be Monday, October 27, 2014 in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
