

Wilbur was born on April 23, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Wilbur and Nancy (Hale) Knight Sr. He received his Master of Science from Houston Baptist University in 1999. Wilbur spent his life serving his country and retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant Major and with numerous decorations, medals, and badges in 2013 after 35 years of cumulative service. In 2009 he married Bunlom Upasaen-Knight. The two celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in October of this year.
Wilbur loved to spend time with family and friends. He also loved to hunt and often combined the two passions during long weekends in the valley with his son, Jarod and friend of over 15 years, Bill Wood. He enjoyed investigative murder and suspense novels, Western films, and Saturdays bonding with his grandson Vincent. Wilbur was known for his attention to detail, tremendous generosity, compassionate spirit and pride for his country.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his mother Nancy. He is survived by his father Wilbur Knight Sr. and wife Betty, siblings John Dee Knight and wife JoAnn, Phillip Knight, Timothy Knight and wife Ofelia, Cindy (Knight) Schow and husband Bill, his son Jarod Knight, wife Colleen and grandson Vincent, his wife Bunlom Upasaen-Knight, step-children children Bunyapon ‘Tok’ Buasamlee and Bun Buasamlee, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and fellow soldiers.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek at ten o’clock a.m. Funeral service at 11:30am and reception to immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be made to a Military charity of your choosing in Wilbur’s honor.
