Funeral services for William “Bill” Archie Arnold, 69-year-old resident of Richmond, Texas will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 29, in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77024.
The service will be preceded by an open viewing at 9:00am and followed by a private family committal service with military honors at Houston National Cemetery.
Bill Arnold was born, Aug. 6, 1946 to Howard Arnold and Ada (Loshbough) Arnold in Enid, Oklahoma. Graduat¬ing Enid High School in 1964, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the cryptography and signals intelligence unit. After an honorable discharge in 1968, he received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Central State University in Edmond, OK, earning Dean’s Honor Roll in 1969.
A formidable business man and Certified Forms Consultant, Bill served as Account Manager, NCR; District Sales Manager, Trinity Forms Co.; Owner, Sir Speedy franchise; Vice President, Jani-King of Houston. He was a proud member of the service fraternity Alpha Tau Omega and an active member of the Lion’s Club.
On October 16, 1970 he married the love of his life, Carol Bennett (Harvey) Arnold. Together, they raised two incredible sons, rode over 100,000 miles on their motorcycles and played countless hands of poker.
A bear of a man, his hugs and his humor could take you off guard, but he lived his dash with unyielding character and integrity, a source of wisdom and advice for all around him.
Bill Arnold passed away in his sleep on July 16, 2016 following an extended stay in the hospital. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Arnold, parents Howard and Ada Arnold, step-mother Catherine Arnold, brother O. Stanley Arnold, Sister Vicky Jane Arnold and brother Harold Hays, Jr.
He is survived by sisters Eunice Barnes and Ruth Bradley, son Sean Arnold and wife Renee’, son Chuck Arnold and wife Lisa, grand¬children Michaela, Piper and Colby, and his Schnauzer companion, Guppy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bill Arnold’s name to one of the following organizations: WoundedWarriorProject. org, Shrinershospitals.org, Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston (msrh.org).
