William (Bill) Elliott Atkins, 68, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Houston Hospice. Mr. Atkins was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Amon and Anna Theresa Atkins and brother Gary Lee Atkins. Bill is survived by his loving family; wife of 46 years, Kathleen McGinniss Atkins; daughters, Sherry Raquel Atkins and Brandi Denise Atkins; brothers, Bruce Wayne Atkins and his wife, Peggy and James Alan Atkins and his wife Judy, brother-in-law Stephen McGinniss and his wife, Glenda and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are: Will Atkins, Jimmy Atkins, Ed Warnell, Terrell Franzen, Stephen McGinniss, Chris McGinniss and Honorary Pallbearer David Estes. Visitation with the family will be held 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North in Houston. Graveside services with Honors will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive 77038 in Houston. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:30 am on Tuesday at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek with Dan Danford, Chaplain, Houston Hospice officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Heart Association or Houston Hospice.
