

William Bruce “Bill” Davis, 63, of Houston, Texas passed away on his birthday, Saturday, July 9, 2016, in Houston, Texas. He was born on July 9, 1953, in Ft. Sill Army Base, Lawton, Oklahoma to the late Bill Davis and Nova Ruth Watts. Being in a military family, Bill grew up in numerous places including Oklahoma, Germany, and California. As a teenager, he grew up in Garland, Texas. He married Martha Sue Franks on May 21, 1976 in Davidson, Oklahoma.
Bill worked for over 40 years in every phase of construction building new homes. He owned his own construction company for over 30 years, from framing a 40 sq. ft. doll house for his daughter to framing an 11,000 sq. ft. home featured on billboards around Houston. Bill was a hard worker whose motto was “want more – do more”. Bill enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated family man, loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha Sue, his daughter Martha Natasha Crownover and her husband, Scott, his son, William Charles Davis and his wife, Amanda, two brothers, Frank Davis, David Davis and his wife Patty, three sisters, Randi Riley, Vikki Trammel and her husband, Ben Russell, Gladys Samples, and her husband Glenn, one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Beaton, four grandchildren, Martha Makayla and Kendall Louise Crownover, William Ryan and Kaylee Reese Davis and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ruth Davis, two sisters, Diedre Davis and Robin Little, and three brother-in-laws, Eddie Lee Franks, Lamoin Franks and John Beaton.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 2 pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095.
