September 8, 1995 – July 29, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of William Amílcar Gomez Jr., who left us far too soon on July 29, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on September 8, 1995, in Houston, Texas, William was the beloved son of Ana Funes and William Gomez, and the cherished younger brother of Stephany. From a young age, William was full of energy, curiosity, and an unshakable sense of adventure, a spirit that carried him across the world and deeply touched the lives of those who knew him.
Following his graduation from high school in 2014, William answered a higher calling and joined the United States Navy, where he served with honor and distinction until his passing. His service took him to many corners of the globe, but it was Singapore that captured his heart. No matter where his travels led, William made it a point to send home a souvenir for his beloved mother Ana, a small token of his love and thoughtfulness.
William’s passion for aviation led him to work as an aircraft mechanic at the airport, a role he pursued with both skill and dedication. His love for learning also brought him to graduate from Universal Technical Institute (UTI) on June 20, 2025, an achievement he took great pride in.
Outside of his service and career, William had many joys in life. He was an avid reader, a collector of watches, and had a well-known love for fine colognes. But above all, William found the deepest happiness in the quiet, everyday moments spent with his mother Ana and his cherished nephew Gianni. His warmth, laughter, and bright smile filled every room he entered.
William is survived by his devoted mother Ana Funes, his sister Stephany Gomez, and his beloved nephew Gianni, all of whom will carry his memory and love with them always.
William will be remembered for his infectious will to live, his adventurous soul, and the light he brought into the lives of everyone he met. His smile, his generosity, and his unbreakable bond with his family leave a legacy that will never fade.
In honor of William, the family asks that you carry forward his spirit by embracing adventure, treasuring your loved ones, and living each day with purpose and joy.
Rest in eternal peace, William. You are deeply loved and will be forever missed.
