

A Celebration of Life service will begin at 6 pm Monday, Aug. 1. In The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston. Family will receive visitors starting at 5 pm. A Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston.
Bill was born Dec. 10, 1933 to Herman and Ann Kreps in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Marist High School in Atlanta in 1951 and earned a mechanical engineering degree from Notre Dame in 1955. He was a U.S. Navy Operations Officer from 1955-57. He worked for Shell Oil Co. from 1957 to 1991.
A lifelong “Domer,’’ Bill served on various national Notre Dame Alumni boards from 2005 until 2014 including as President of the Notre Dame Senior Alumni Board from 2008-2009. He was the ND Class Communications Coordinator, and also was the Hospital Support Coordinator for the ND Club of Houston. His life of service involved many church and social ministries and mentoring youth. A man of deep faith, he truly lived Christ’s calling to serve others.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret C. (Peggy) Kreps.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 12 years, Hannah Storen Kreps; daughter Mary Ann Hellinghausen and husband Bill; daughter Colleen Stubblefield and husband Michael; four grandchildren, Matthew Stubblefield; Madeleine Stubblefield; Leigh Muths and husband Ben; and Laura Hellinghausen. He is also survived by Hannah’s children: Hannah Lynn Storen Hicks and husband Dan; Mark Storen and wife Triona Lonergan; Duke Storen and wife Barb; and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
