Bill was born in Channelview in October, 1969. He grew up in Houston and Seguin, and after finishing high school, he lived and worked around the Montrose area in Houston. He made a lot of friends everywhere he worked – Spec’s, Whole Earth and Intrafusion / McKesson to name a few. He met his wife, Jennifer Hilliard, in 2004 at Rudyard’s Pub and after a night of darts, dancing and one tattoo, they spent the next 20 years building an amazing life together. He was most proud of his boys, William Henry (Will), 16, and Jack Isaac, 14, but he had many passions. He loved camping and cars, cooking and gardening, and good music, food and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Gaye Sayers, of West Virginia and his father, William A. Strickley, Sr, of Ohio. He is survived by his wife and sons, his brother, Tim Gilley, of Porter, Texas, his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Sherry Hilliard, of Tomball, Texas, and his brother-in-law, Christopher Hilliard, and family, Courtney Beach and Charlotte Hilliard, of El Cerrito, California, and many wonderful friends.
We are thankful for the care he received from his team at MD Anderson Cancer Center over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in his name.
