Dear Wafer Family,

It is with sadness that we learned of the death of Mr. Wafer.  We have fond memories of him and his family as our neighbors in Jersey Village.  May our Good Lord shower all of you with blessings during this difficult period.  Know that our love and prayers are with you.

Dear Family, My heart and prayers are with you and your family. I remember your husband and dad as Billy Joe starting in about the 5th grade through graduation at high school. I lived down the street in Monroe when Billy and I were in the junior year of high school. His Mom was secretary at Ouachita High School and I rode to school with them the entire year. Billy got me to apply for the Coast Guard Academy as he was applying for West Point. Billy was successful in that adventure but I missed the educational entrance by 1/2 credit. That same year we had Physics together and Billy helped me, especially in the study of Light. Through the years since high school, I had many beautiful thoughts about Billy as it was a reflection of his personna.

To the Wafer Family.  Lakeview Dr. won't feel the same without catching glimpses of Mr. Wafer in front of the house/yard. My heart & prayers are with you during this time. God Bless you all.

Dear Family, I'm so sorry that I can't be with you for hugs and tears, support and even smiles at the recollection of so many happy family memories we've shared with "Uncle Bill" right at the center of it all.  Yet I'm simultaneously so glad that Nancy, Victor and Mom are there with you.  With them comes my deepest sympathy, love and heartfelt prayers.  Last Sunday was the Sunday after All Saints and when it came time to name dearly departed ones in the prayers of the people, I offered up Uncle Bill's name.  May all of you be comforted by your beuatiful, large family, strengthened by your profound Christian faith, and enouraged by the example of such a wonderful, strong and gracious man as Uncle Bill.   His memory is inextricably woven into the fabric of my dearest childhood memories as are you all.  "For none of us has life in himself and none becomes his own master when he dies. Sandy and Jerett, our prayers are with you and your family.  Your stories of your Dad are an inspiration to us all.  May we all be so blessed to have such love, courage and strength of character in our lives as your Dad has had in your life and that of your family's life.

Barbara and family,  I remember your husband and dad as Billy Joe.  In high school and the band he was thoughtful of others and continued his life as a top-notch person. It has been my privilege to meet you, Barbara, at the reunion functions. You all continue in my prayers for peace and the uplifting of your spirits.

To all of the Wafer family, your dad and husband was a wonderful man who has left a beautiful legacy behind and will live on in each of you.  Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May you feel God's peace surround you. Blessings to you all.

      Loving arms are coming to embrace you soon. Mom, Bud, Suzanne and I, and all of our families, have you in our thoughts and prayers.  The fond memories of times together still live on. I had just been remembering those silent movie pictures you used to shoot back in Andalusia.   Can't wait to hear all of your voices. Until then, God Bless.

An American hero and true gentleman in every sense of the word has passed.
