Dr. Tottenham was my orthodontist in the 1980s when I was a child. I was a difficult client. Because I was an unrepentant thumb sucker, I had caused changes inside my mouth and given myself a speech impediment. Speech therapy, as a child, taught me how to make the right sounds sound right. Dr. Tottenham's miserable task, alongside the Dentists', was to, you know, put my teeth where they should be so I could speak and chew food properly. Teeth removal began. A palate expander, certainly a device of medieval torture, had been installed previously. I not only needed braces, but the dreaded headgear. Dr. Tottenham became, over time, a real friend. No matter what you said with his gloved fingers in your mouth, he understood exactly what you were saying, laughed at your jokes and observations and shared some of his own. His waiting room had actual real arcade video games you played for free as you waited your orthodontic torture session. I remember showing him, multiple times, just how good I was getting shooting the little rubber bands I had to wear, like, really far, and often even close to a target I was aiming for. Because my parents moved, my orthodontic care was completed in Dallas. The Plan of Care Dr. Tottenham set in motion followed me. I was the miserable girl with full braces through all years of Middle School and High School. On the day before my Senior Class picture was taken, my braces were removed. I couldn't believe it. Suddenly, in the mirror, I saw the beautiful smile Dr. Tottenham gave me. Later in life, I walked into his Houston office and asked for him. Not only did he recognize me immediately, as an adult, but I was able to thank him, and personally, for this smile I have. Then. He showed me where he still had the cartoons I drew for him as a child stashed. He was an incredible man and orthodontist. My sincerest condolences on his passing.

Dr. Tottenham was one of a kind.  Each time you saw him he was smiling and full of life.  He was one of the most caring and giving people I have ever met.   My condolences to his family. We were all blessed to have known such a wonderful person.

We will miss Woody's friendly smile and pleasant greetings from across the street.  He was a very nice neighbor.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Woody's family during this time.

Many, Many fine memories with Woody at Windemere  on Lake Travis at the Hoof and Mouth Bath House Chalet and the Cobalt boat that Dwight, Susan, Woody, and I shared together. I never saw Woody's handsome face without a smile. Our boys have great smiles....and we only have smiles when we think of him. Our sincere condolences to the Tottenham family.

We will always fondly remember Dr. Tottenham.  He was so kind and generous to our family.  His was the most fun doctor's office ever, and it was uplifting to see him.  Please accept our sympathy.

What a great person Doc Tottenham was!! He aligned my jacked up teeth when I was in high school and just recently corrected a cross bite on my 9 year old son.  Rest in peace Dr. Woody!!

 What a fun and free spirit and yet a great orthodontist.  Who could forget his 50th birthday party complete with a whipped cream fight! He is certain to be missed.  Sorry I got late notice or would have attended the service.  My sincere condolences and God's blessing to his family.

Doc Tottenham will be sorely missed by all of us who knew him.  His smile was something I will always remember.

I worked for Woody in the 80's and he was not only my boss, but a true friend. We remained friends even after I left the Houston area. I have so many great pictures and wonderful, funny memories of Woody that I will cherish forever! Thank you, God, for "loaning" us Woody for 70yrs- He touched all our hearts and lives and will be truly missed.

Woody was a dental school classmate, UTDB. My condolences to his family.

Woody was a wonderful friend to our family. He was a groomsman in our wedding, godfather to our daughter and "uncle" to both our children.  I have many fond memories of Woody dating back to the early 1980's and knew him to be a loyal son, brother, uncle and friend.  His passing will be felt by so many people, and though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.

My condolences to Woody's family and friends. I worked in the same Dental Complex and have many great memories. He was special to so many and will be truly missed.

We will both miss our very nice neighbor. It won't be the same. Our sincere sympathy and prayers go out to Woody's family.
